3-time champion says he's "ready" to replace Bryan Danielson as the face of AEW after his retirement

Former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin claimed he's ready to take over Bryan Danielson's spot as the face of the promotion. The American Dragon was last seen at WrestleDream PPV last month.

Bryan Danielson has been clear since last year about his plan to retire from full-time in-ring competition in AEW. The American Dragon won the World Title against Swerve Strickland at All In and revealed that he would retire after he lost the championship. Last month at WrestleDream PPV, Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship.

In a recent interview with D. Scott on JAMZ96.3, Darby Allin was questioned about the condition of All Elite Wrestling since Bryan Danielson retired and who would be the new face of AEW. The Daredevil revealed that the stuff he does outside the ring makes him mentally strong. The three-time champion said that he could survive the pressure of being the face of All Elite Wrestling.

“I say this all the time, but all the crazy stuff I do outside of the ring is not just for laughs and giggles. It actually makes me mentally stronger. Breaking down those barriers. If I can survive this stunt, then why can’t I be the face of a company? If I can survive Everest, why can’t I be the face of a company? It’s just getting stronger mentally. I firmly believe when you risk your life on a monthly basis, it’s going to make you pretty strong mentally, and I feel like I’m ready to be the face of this whole company.” [H/T: RingsideNews]

Matt Hardy on whether Jon Moxley was the right choice to retire Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream

Jon Moxley turned on Bryan Danielson at All Out and managed to take the World Title from him at WrestleDream. The outcome also resulted in The American Dragon's retirement from full-time competition.

In a recent edition of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the former WWE star said that Jon Moxley was the most secure choice to end Bryan Danielson's career.

“I don’t know; I think Jon Moxley is probably the most secure choice, especially for the one to end Bryan Danielson’s career and to carry the title right now." [H/T: Fightful]

We will have to wait and see if Bryan Danielson makes his return to All Elite Wrestling in the future.
