32-year-old star reveals he almost joined House of Black in AEW
A current AEW star has revealed that he almost joined House of Black. The talent is now part of another faction.
Not too long ago, Bryan Keith signed a contract with AEW. Since then, he has become a mainstay of the company's programming. While Keith may not have secured a lot of wins, he has done enough to impress Chris Jericho so much so that the wrestling legend has recruited him to The Learning Tree.
Bryan Keith will likely learn a lot from being associated with someone like Chris Jericho as part of The Learning Tree. However, this wasn't always the plan for him.
During a recent episode of the Talk is Jericho podcast, Bryan Keith mentioned that there were pitches for him to join Shane Taylor Promotions and House of Black. However, the 32-year-old never heard that he was being added to The Learning Tree.
"I think one of them was potentially Shane Taylor Promotions. Another one was, I know they were throwing around maybe House of Black possibly, something like that, I don’t know for sure. Then I don’t remember what the other one was, I just remember it wasn’t you guys, that’s for sure [laughs]," Keith said. [H/T: Fightful]
AEW star Bryan Keith couldn't believe that he was going to work with Chris Jericho
Bryan Keith made a name for himself on the independent scene before signing with AEW. While joining the Tony Khan-led company was seemingly a dream come true for him, the situation just got better when he was informed that he would be part of The Learning Tree.
During the same podcast episode, Bryan Keith mentioned that he was trained by Booker T and he was influenced by stars of WWE's Ruthless Aggression Era. He added that it was an unbelievable opportunity for him to work with someone like Jericho.
"Whenever you let me know that I’m possibly gonna be with you guys, man, I remember just [laughs] dropping everything and being like, ‘What? That’s…’ Never in a million years. I was trained by Booker T. That is my era of wrestling, the Ruthless Aggression Era is stuff I grew up on, stuff I feel like is the best product that I watched, and you guys were the reason for that. I’m trained by Booker T, now working with you, so it’s a movie, man. My life is a movie," Bryan Keith said. [H/T: Fightful]
It will be interesting to see if The Bounty Hunter's career will flourish under the guidance of Chris Jericho in AEW.
