32-year-old star sends a message hours ahead of AEW Collision debut
AEW is bringing some of its original talents back into the spotlight following the events of WrestleDream, including The Dark Order, Sammy Guevara, and Kip Sabian. On the women's side, Sabian's real-life wife, Penelope Ford, is also gearing up for her in-ring return, and she sent a message to fans on social media to hype up the match.
Penelope Ford was part of the first wave of talents signed by All Elite Wrestling back in January 2019. She's had an up-and-down tenure, with a high point being her now-legendary Street Fight alongside Tay Melo, Anna Jay, and The Bunny in December 2021.
Unfortunately, Ford has spent the last two years on the shelf after being injured. Her last match in AEW was on the October 12, 2022, episode of DARK: Elevation. She returned to television earlier this month, and she's set to make her in-ring return tonight against Robyn Renegade on Collision.
Penelope took to X/Twitter ahead of the show to hype up her fans. She noted that it's been 744 days since her last match:
"744 days since my last match. Saturday #AEWCollision TONIGHT LIVE Cedar Rapids, IA 8pm ET / 7pm CT on TNT," Penelope wrote.
AEW's Penelope Ford is looking for revenge against Jamie Hayter
Penelope Ford was out of action for two years, but she's now back and looking for vengeance. She made her comeback on the October 8 episode of Dynamite with a shocking attack on Jamie Hayter.
Penelope and Jamie had teamed up a couple of times prior to the former's injury in 2022. However, in a recent message on Collision, Ford revealed that Hayter had not even bothered to check on her while she was out.
Penelope Ford's attack cost Jamie Hayter a shot at Mariah May's AEW Women's World Championship, and it seems the two are now on a collision course. With Penelope gearing up for their battle with a match against Robyn Renegade tonight, it remains to be seen who will come out on top.
