40-year-old star blatantly threatens to disconnect from AEW talent after recent developments
A certain former WWE Champion has just reacted to a shocking betrayal that took place at AEW WrestleDream and has threatened to take action against one of the stars involved. This would be TJ Perkins talking about Kyle Fletcher
Last night at the pay-per-view, Fletcher turned on his longtime friend Will Ospreay and cost him his International title. His allegiances continued to lie with the Don Callis Family, as he helped Konosuke Takeshita steal the win and become the new champion.
On X/Twitter, TJP called out Kyle Fletcher for his actions. Along with Ospreay, the three of them were all members of United Empire in NJPW, but only the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is an official member of the group, with the other two now being signed with AEW.
"Well that does it…I’m taking Kyle out of the group chat," Perkins posted.
The AEW star recently talked about the history he has with Will Ospreay
A few weeks ago, Kyle Fletcher was interviewed on Close-Up with Renee Paquette about being reunited with Will Ospreay in AEW. He spoke about how their history with one another has shown when they work together. He revealed how, in the past, they had instant chemistry with one another.
"It's really, really cool in a lot of different ways. I think more so than just a wrestling sense we have so much history. Not even friends, we just have so much history together. I think the moment I met him, there was that instant chemistry together," Kyle said. (08:05 - 08:25)
Kyle Fletcher came into the promotion as one-half of Aussie Open with Mark Davis. Davis is still out with an injury but is currently working to make his return.
The two former United Empire members ended up in the same faction in AEW, but this was short-lived as Ospreay quickly made his exit from the Don Callis Family. This storyline between the two former friends could just be beginning, and a heated feud will go on for a while.
