40-year-old wrestler announces retirement, declares only Bryan Danielson can get him back
Wrestling veteran Daniel Makabe recently hung up his wrestling boots. However, he has kept the door open just in case Bryan Danielson agrees to fight him.
On July 12, 2024, Makabe wrestled his last match against Kevin Ku at the SCI Tournament Night One, which took place at TWE Arena in Red Bank, TN. Following his win, he took off his shoes and left them in the ring.
Then, the 40-year-old star addressed the crowd and said he would return for another match if The American Dragon agreed to face him.
For those who don't know, the year 2024 is going to be Bryan Danielson's last year as a full-time pro wrestling star. A few months ago, he revealed that his contract is set to expire before All In 2024.
"The big one is Wembley (that is left on my wrestling checklist). I wanna make it to Wembley. My contract actually expires before Wembley. But I wanna make it to Wembley… I’m not sure if I’ll make it, but one thing that would be a nice way to kind of close everything out for me is to do my last match as a full-time wrestler at WrestleDream at the Tacoma Dome," Danielson said.
Veteran feels Bryan Danielson's value has diminished
In a recent edition of Keepin' It 100, WCW veteran Disco Inferno stated that Bryan Danielson has value because of his fans. But his value in the market has been decreasing as a result of his own bad choices.
"I still think he has value because he has fans. I don't think anybody has turned on him but I do think his value is obviously diminished by his own volition," Disco said.
Bryan Danielson became All Elite in 2021. Despite being such a talented star in the Jacksonville-based promotion, he has never won a gold in the company. He recently entered the Owen Hart Cup Tournament and came out as the victor.
At All in 2024, which will occur at Wembley Stadium in London, he will face Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Heavyweight Champion
