47-year-old star reveals details of his last meeting with Bray Wyatt before his untimely passing
Bray Wyatt tragically left the pro wrestling world on August 24, 2023, at the age of 36. AEW and WWE stars often share stories of their interactions with the second-generation superstar, and one veteran star has just opened up about his reunion with the leader of The Wyatt Family.
The Eater of Worlds signed a WWE developmental contract in late 2008 to work in FCW along with his brother, Bo Dallas. A week after winning the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship for the first time, The Rotundos, aka Bo and Duke, defeated Dylan Klein and Vance Archer, aka Lance Archer. Two weeks later, the brothers retained the title over Archer and Klein on FCW television. The future Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy defeated Archer and Klein once more that September, and then in December, Bo and Duke defeated Archer and Michael Tarver.
The Murderhawk Monster is now with AEW, where Wyatt was rumored to go after WWE shockingly released him on July 31, 2021. Speaking to One True Sport, Archer recalled reuniting with Wyatt at WrestleCon Dallas in April 2022, just months before Wyatt returned to WWE that October.
"I got to see him [Bray Wyatt], which was the last time I saw him, and I posted a picture from it, when he did pass away, at WrestleCon 2022 that was in Dallas, because he still wasn't back with the company at the time. I think he was but it wasn't one of those things that was confirmed yet, I think they were just starting to lean into the original QR codes and all that fun stuff, but he was doing WrestleCon and it was one of the very, very, very, very few appearances that he did in his time in between, and I got to see him," Lance Archer said. The 47-year-old star continued:
"He [Bray Wyatt] was actually at the table next to me. So, it was cool to see him again because we were in FCW together, and if you saw that documentary that they did recently, then [you know]," Lance Archer said. [From 35:15 to 35:23]
Wyatt and Archer wrestled one more match together, in addition to the four aforementioned tag team bouts. Their first-ever match came at the FCW television tapings on May 21, 2009, as Wyatt and Vic Adams, aka Marcus Owens, defeated Archer and Jon Cutler.
Bray Wyatt-inspired The Wyatt Sicks to wrestle again tonight?
WWE continued its Bray Wyatt-inspired storyline in a major way last week as The Wyatt Sicks wrestled their first match. The in-ring action for the sinister faction may continue tonight on RAW.
The RAW main event from last week saw Joe Gacy, aka Huskus The Pig Boy, Dexter Lumis, aka Mercy The Buzzard, and Erick Rowan, aka Ramblin' Rabbit, defeat Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers.
Bo Dallas, aka Uncle Howdy, and Nikki Cross, aka Abby The Witch, watched last week's match from ringside. Now Cross has fueled speculation that her in-ring return, as Abby may take place on tonight's RAW.
Cross has not wrestled since participating in the RAW Battle Royal on November 6, 2023. Her last singles match was a win over Kiana James at the pre-RAW tapings for WWE Main Event on October 9.
