48-year-old star gives a scary update on Kenny Omega amid AEW absence

Kenny Omega has been away from the ring since last December due to severe diverticulitis. Omega returned to All Elite Wrestling earlier this year and revealed that he would need major surgery and would be out for the foreseeable future. A 48-year-old star has given the latest update on Kenny's health.

Michael Nakazawa is the latest to comment on Kenny Omega's health. The Cleaner is widely regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. He gained a lot of recognition during his time in NJPW where he was known as the Best Bout Machine due to his incredible matches.

After his run in Japan, he returned to America and started AEW with The Elite. Since then, he has been part of All Elite Wrestling. However, he had to put his wrestling career on hold due to diverticulitis. He even underwent surgery recently and is recovering.

During a recent interview with Love-Spo, Michael Nakazawa who is Omega's close friend provided a concerning update about the former World Champion by saying he isn't sure when he will return to the ring.

"Since there is no power in the abdomen to begin with, there is a concern about whether or not one can perform in such a state. The impact is physically quite strong, so you never know how it will affect your internal organs. So I can't say anything about when he [Kenny Omega] will be able to return to work." [H/T Fightful]

Dave Meltzer believes Kota Ibushi will return to AEW when Kenny Omega returns

Kota Ibushi is another very close friend of Kenny Omega since their days together in NJPW. Ibushi has even teamed with Omega in All Elite Wrestling. But he hasn't been seen on AEW TV in a long time.

Dave Meltzer believes that Ibushi will make his return to AEW at the same time as Omega but he's unsure about the date.

"He’s [Ibushi] coming back to AEW, basically when Kenny Omega returns he’s returning. I don’t know if there’s even a date for when Omega’s going to return, I don’t think it’s so far away as before… He’s getting better I know that." [H/T: WOR]

The Elite kicked out Kenny from the group during his hiatus and even attacked him earlier this year after he revealed his health issues. The latest update on Omega won't make many fans happy as they have been waiting eagerly for the Best Bout Machine to return to the ring.
