49-year-old star confirms "ongoing" talks with WWE months after AEW departure
A top name has just confirmed that he is having "ongoing" talks with WWE. This information comes months after his AEW departure.
The Hardy Boyz are widely regarded as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. They have almost always worked together regardless of which promotion they signed for. Be it World Wrestling Entertainment or TNA. When Matt Hardy joined AEW a few years ago, it didn't take long for Jeff to follow his older brother.
After a seemingly disappointing stint in AEW, both Matt and Jeff Hardy left the promotion several months ago and returned to TNA. This move led to speculation that the Hardy Boyz could appear on World Wrestling Entertainment television again given the company's partnership with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the 49-year-old mentioned that he was still having talks with the Stamford-based promotion but nothing was confirmed yet.
"So it's one of those things, if we ended up back at AEW to do something, yeah, we wouldn't be opposed to that, especially if it's something that sounded really, really good, that we were very intrigued by. Then, once again, with WWE, there's still been some ongoing conversation with WWE. So yeah, I mean, anything can happen in the extreme life of Matt Hardy," he said. [H/T Fightful]

Former WWE star Matt Hardy admitted that he has creative plans with TNA through the end of the year
For fans eager to see The Hardys sign with World Wrestling Entertainment, they might have to wait for a while. It does not appear that the legendary brothers will be signing with the Stamford-based promotion any time soon.
On the same podcast episode, Matt Hardy admitted that he has creative plans with TNA until the end of the year. Hence, the only way he could make an appearance on WWE television before the end of the year was through TNA's current partnership with the Stamford-based promotion.
"We're both very, very happy. We're extremely happy with how TNA is going right now, and we're going to be continuing this for a while. We just actually talked about some creative stuff going through the end of this year right now. So that's very exciting. We dig what we have," he said. [H/T Fightful]
It will be interesting to see if Matt and Jeff will get to end their wrestling careers in World Wrestling Entertainment.
