Adam Cole finally issues statement on relationship with Britt Baker; status confirmed
Adam Cole recently returned to action in AEW after spending almost a full year on the shelf due to injury. However, his comeback was somewhat overshadowed as rumors swirled that he and Britt Baker had split up. The Panama City Playboy has now confirmed their relationship status.
Adam Cole and Britt Baker were AEW's premier power couple, having been together since 2017. Fans were ecstatic to see them reunite when Cole jumped from WWE to All Elite Wrestling, but it seems their storybook romance has come to an end.
In an exclusive interview with Rick Ucchino on SI's The Takedown, Cole revealed that he and Baker had split up:
"We are no longer a couple," Cole admitted. "But when I say that we both still love each other and are still friends and still so supportive of each other, that could not be more true."
The Undisputed Kingdom leader further revealed that while he and Britt are no longer together, he continues to support her and hope for her success:
"I think the world of Britt," Cole said. "I want her to be as happy and successful as humanly possible, and I know she feels the exact same way about me. We did decide to go our separate ways, but that doesn't mean that she will not be an incredibly important part of my life. Britt is absolutely one of my best friends. She's someone that I love dearly and will always love dearly, and there is no ill will between me and her whatsoever." [h/t Rick Ucchino]
Adam Cole also expressed his hope that fans wouldn't pick sides and reiterated that he and Baker do not dislike each other. He explained that, while they have gone their separate ways, they still care for each other.
Cole's full interview with SI's The Takedown will be available on YouTube tomorrow morning.
