Adam Cole reveals ‘keeps in contact’ with MJF’s former AEW rival

Adam Cole recently spoke about his relationship with someone who also has a bone to pick with the former AEW World Champion, MJF. The latter has been on a hiatus for some time now with no details regarding a possible return. This is none other than Wardlow.

Wardlow is a member of the Undisputed Kingdom who has been absent from AEW programming due to injury. He has been with the faction since their grand reveal back in December and even went on to challenge for the world title in March this year. He hasn't been seen in the ring since coming up short in the title match.

During his appearance on Casual Conversations with The Classic, Adam Cole talked about his relationship with Wardlow amidst his absence. He mentioned how he still thought the world of him, but at this point, he wasn't sure what Wardlow was up to. Cole revealed that the two remain in contact though. It remains to be seen how Mr. Mayhem factors in with the faction once he makes his return.

"I still think very highly of Wardlow. I'm not sure exactly what he's doing or exactly what he's up to at the moment, but we still keep in contact." Cole said. [H/T - WrestlingInc.]

Adam Cole addressed his current feud with MJF

Since his return last month at AEW WrestleDream, Adam Cole has found himself rekindling his feud with MJF. This was never given a proper conclusion as Cole was dealing with an injury the whole time.

At Worlds End, the Panama City Playboy made the big reveal that he was The Devil and that he had enlisted his friends to serve as henchmen to make MJF's life as miserable as possible. However, this feud was not followed up on due to the former NXT Champion not being cleared for action, and thus their momentum had dwindled already.

While appearing on the Danny Ocean Show, Adam Cole mentioned how following his return from injury, he wanted a proper conclusion to his feud with MJF. He talked about the difficulty of picking up momentum in the storyline, seeing as how this was built up last year.

"I just feel that the story that me and MJF told needs a definitive conclusion. Coming back from injury, that’s exactly what I’m hopping into. Of course, you want to make as many people happy as possible. Then, sometimes too, with stories, it takes a little bit to get back to where you were because a lot of the stuff that we did was very slow-burn," he said. [H/T - RingsideNews]

Last weekend at Full Gear, it was Roderick Strong who got an opportunity to settle scores with MJF, but he came up short. For good measure, Friedman even attempted to injure his arm post-match. Now, it is up to Adam Cole to retaliate following the events that transpired.
