Adam Cole sends a four-word message ahead of first match in more than a year at this week's AEW Dynamite

Adam Cole is set to compete in his first match in over a year. Ahead of the clash, he sent a message on social media.

Adam Cole's AEW run has been plagued by injuries. After being out of action for several months due to a concussion, Cole returned and was in a storyline with MJF when he injured his foot forcing him to stay out of the ring for another year.

During this time, Cole still made appearances on AEW TV occasionally and even turned on Maxwell Jacob Friedman thereby starting their feud. After Maxwell returned at Double or Nothing 2024 and attacked Cole, the latter wasn't seen on television until WrestleDream 2024 when he returned and chased MJF away.

Now that he is fully recovered, Cole is set to compete in his first match in over a year this week on Dynamite when he faces Buddy Matthews. Ahead of this match, Cole took to social media to send a short message to his fans.

"Tonight…I’m back BayBay. #BOOM #AEWDynamite"

MJF issued an interesting challenge to Adam Cole

After Adam Cole returned from his injury, he made it clear that he wanted to get his hands on MJF. However, Roderick Strong told him that he wanted Maxwell first.

Friedman took advantage of this and appeared on the titantron to issue an interesting challenge. He informed Cole and Strong that he had no intention of showing up until Full Gear. He also told them that the first person to get three singles wins could face him at the pay-per-view.

Although both Cole and Roderick Strong seemed fine with MJF's challenge, it's clear the Salt of The Earth is planning something devious to drive a wedge between Cole and Strong. It will be interesting to see who will face Maxwell at Full Gear.
