Adam Copeland (fka Edge) shares an extremely heartbreaking post as AEW absence continues
Adam Copeland has not wrestled for around six months. After suffering a grueling injury, the former Edge began his recovery with plans to return to the AEW ring. Meanwhile, Copeland has been dealing with another battle at home and has shared an update on it.
Western North Carolina was among the areas hit hard by Hurricane Helene back in September. As The Old North State has been known as Flair Country for years, this is a hotbed for professional wrestling, with many legends calling the state home. Copeland and FTR are among the wrestlers who live in the Asheville area, which is part of Appalachia that was devastated by Hurricane Helene.
Tony Khan was among the wrestling personalities who donated to Helene's relief efforts in North Carolina. Copeland and his good friends, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, publicly praised Khan for his efforts. The trio has also kept the Helene relief and recovery front-and-center in recent weeks, and Copeland echoed the message of rebuilding together by posting a story on Instagram.
"This is Swannanoa River today. Through snow, rain, or freezing cold, we keep working. [flexed biceps emoji] Together, We Will Rebuild. [heart emoji] #CommunityResilience #WeWillRebuild #NeverGiveUp #StrongerTogether #NatureAndHope," reads the post with the video below.
Copeland and wife Beth Phoenix moved full-time to Asheville in 2014, one year after they became parents, and two years before they welcomed a second daughter. Phoenix has studied at Western Carolina University.
