AEW champions declare they don't plan on ever leaving, have been with Tony Khan since 2019
AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party has no plans to leave All Elite Wrestling anytime soon. Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen signed with Tony Khan's promotion in 2019.
On the Fright Night edition of Dynamite, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen (Private Party) shocked the world after defeating Nicholas and Matthew Jackson (The Young Bucks) to become the World Tag Team Champions. The duo has been part of the promotion since 2019 and has had multiple shortcomings while challenging for the tag team titles for the past several years.
In a recent chat on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Isiah Kassidy called Marq Quen and himself, All Elite Wrestling Originals. Kassidy clarified that the Private Party wants to remain in the promotion forever and hopes that Tony Khan keeps them.
"Honestly, one of the biggest things I like to hang on my shoulder is that we’re AEW originals. We’ve been here from the very beginning and I don’t plan on ever leaving. Hopefully Tony wants to keep me, but I’m very proud to be an AEW original, that’s one thing that I’m super super proud of. AEW and Tony Khan, it literally changed my life and I am super grateful, super gracious, and so thankful."
Marq Quen further recalled having his first match in All Elite Wrestling:
"I wouldn’t say it changed my life more than it gave me a life. Ever since that first match, remember I was just like, 'I can die happy.' Now, this?" [H/T:Fightful]
Matt Hardy reacts to Private Party's AEW World Tag Title victory
During his time in All Elite Wrestling, Matt Hardy took Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen under his wing and helped the duo become a popular tag team. After Private Party's shocking Tag Team Championship victory, Hardy shared some comments for the duo.
In a recent edition of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the veteran expressed how great it was to see Private Party win gold. Hardy pointed out that he and his brother, Jeff Hardy, also recently won the TNA World Tag Team Championship, which makes the Hardy Party dripping in gold.
"I was pretty positive they were gonna win from speaking to them. In pro wrestling though, it is never official until it actually happens and it goes down in real time. That was great, I know I made a quick post about them and I even acknowledged how it cool it was that we had just won the TNA tag team titles and they won the AEW tag team titles. Very, very cool, all of Hardy Party is strapped up now with a little bit of gold on the shoulder," Matt Hardy said. [H/T to Fightful]
We will have to wait and see how long Private Party holds the World Tag Team Championship.
