AEW doctor trying to stop a major star from wrestling until All In
Many longtime fans consider AEW star Bryan Danielson one of the greatest technical wrestlers ever. The 43-year-old has performed in various promotions, including WWE. He recently disclosed that a doctor has advised him to stay away from the ring until the 2024 All In pay-per-view.
Bryan Danielson was known as Daniel Bryan in the global juggernaut. Due to concussion-related issues, he was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2016. However, he made a glorious comeback and eventually joined AEW in 2021. Since then, he has been one of the most valuable assets for the promotion.
The American Dragon is scheduled to face Swerve Strickland at All In 2024 for the AEW World Championship. In a recent backstage interview with Renee Paquette, the 2024 Men's Owen Hart Cup winner revealed that the company's doctor, Michael Sampson, has instructed him not to wrestle until the Wembley Stadium event on August 25.
“Doc Sampson doesn’t want me to wrestle until Wembley, and that’s actually the harder part. It’s the part like, ‘What do you mean? I’m here in Nashville. Can’t I…?' That sort of thing," Danielson said. [H/T: Fightful]
AEW star Bryan Danielson's neck "isn't great"
In the same interview with Renee Paquette, the former WWE Champion candidly spoke about issues related to his neck. Danielson added how he was in a dilemma about making the correct decision about his future.
The American Dragon further revealed that his family and wife were concerned about his well-being.
"My neck isn’t great [laughs]. So it’s weird because this feels like the biggest match of my career, and there’s this war going on between my mind and my body of what I feel like I can do and what my body is telling that I probably shouldn’t do. Even when I talk to Brie [Garcia] and the family, it’s like, ‘Well, I want to do this,’ and she’s saying, ‘But what about your neck? What about this?'" Danielson said. [H/T: Fightful]
Bryan Danielson received the opportunity to face Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at All In 2024 by winning this year's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
