AEW could end up airing on YouTube if Tony Khan is unable to strike a new deal with WBD, believes WWE veteran (Exclusive)

AEW are yet to strike a new deal with WBD. A WWE veteran feels their shows could wind up on YouTube if Tony Khan fails to strike a deal.

Vince Russo is the latest to open up on a massive issue plaguing All Elite Wrestling. The list of issues troubling Tony Khan's promotion just keeps increasing. The company is currently under deal with Warner Bros. Discovery which is close to expiring. However, the two companies are yet to come to terms on a new deal and inability to do so will mean that AEW's weekly episodic shows will have to find a new home.

To make matters worse, AEW recently recorded its lowest viewership for Dynamite a few weeks ago. This should make it difficult for the promotion to sign a deal with WBD. Speaking on a recent episode of his WrestleBinge podcast, Vince Russo mentioned that not getting a new deal TV deal with WBD will mean that their shows will have to move to YouTube:

"Maybe it is the rights deal, you know, maybe they don't get one, you know. I mean that definitely bro is a game changer and you know, we're getting closer and closer to the end of the year bro. There's no deal made. We know that Warner Discovery did not talk about them at the Upfronts which is huge and if there's not a TV deal. There's not a streaming deal, what are you going to do? You going to put the show on YouTube." [5:35 - 6:06]

Eric Bischoff praises Tony Khan for bold decision at AEW Forbidden Door 2024

Eric Bischoff has been very critical of AEW in recent years. he has often blasted Tony Khan on his podcast almost every week. However, even Eric had to applaud a recent decision of Tony's.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff praised Tony's decision to have Will Ospreay put over Swerve Strickland in the main event of Forbidden Door. He even mentioned that Swerve looked like a million bucks as a result:

"Gotta talk about that main event. Pretty high on that main event. I'm gonna say this right off the f*cking bat, kudos to Tony Khan and his creative decision. Perhaps the best one he's ever made. Having Will Ospreay put over Swerve [Strickland] and not only by the way put over Swerve, but make Swerve look like a billion bucks. Kudos Kudos Kudos and the hell with all of you to think I never put anybody over when they deserve it." [1:01-1:43]

It will be interesting to see whether Tony Khan will be finally able to strike a TV deal with Warner Bros. Discovery soon.
