AEW forced to make big change after embarrassing botch involving Chris Jericho

AEW has made a big change after a huge mistake involving former world champion Chris Jericho on Collision last Saturday. The company fixed the error with a recent post on social media.

Last Friday at CMLL's 91 Anniversario, Chris Jericho made his return to the promotion after years. He competed in a two-out-of-three-falls match against former WWE Superstar Mistico (aka Sin Cara) in the main event.

Despite winning the first fall, Jericho failed to secure the win, as Mistico scored the rest of the falls and emerged victorious. After the match, Big Bill and Jericho attacked Mistico, but Orange Cassidy came to the latter's rescue. However, AEW made an embarrassing mistake while announcing the result of The Learning Tree's match.

On Collision last Saturday, Tony Schiavone, on commentary, announced that Jericho won the last fall against Mistico with the Walls of Jericho. However, Mistico was the one who won the last fall and the match. Nonetheless, AEW fixed the mistake made by Schiavone by sharing a post on X/Twitter, where the veteran commentator declared the correct result.

The post can be viewed below.

Chris Jericho is set for a singles match on AEW Dynamite

At All In 2024, the long-running feud between Chris Jericho and HOOK ended after the former lost the FTW Championship to the latter. Jericho is currently involved in a rivalry with Orange Cassidy. As mentioned earlier, The Learning Tree and Cassidy had an altercation at the CMLL event last Friday.

Furthermore, Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith attacked Cassidy backstage on Collision last Saturday. After multiple confrontations between the two, the former AEW World Champion and Freshly Squeezed will face each other on this week's Dynamite.

It remains to be seen who will win between The Learning Tree and Orange Cassidy on Wednesday.
