AEW is the logical choice for 3-time Women's Champion after leaving WWE, says legend, wants Mercedes Mone match (Exclusive)

A former WWE Women's Champion recently left the company and veteran journalist Bill Apter believes that AEW is the right destination for her. The star in question is none other than Beth Phoenix.

According to recent reports, The Glamazon has left the Stamford-based promotion, which raised many questions among wrestling fans about her potential future. Beth Phoenix last competed in a tag team match where she teamed up with her husband Adam Copeland (a.k.a Edge) to take on Judgement Day's Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley at Elimination Chamber 2023.

In an exclusive chat with Mac Davis on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Senior Editor Bill Apter explained why AEW is the logical choice for Beth Phoenix after her WWE departure. He noted that the former three-time Women's Champion can team up with her husband Adam Copeland and can also go toe-to-toe against talent like Mercedes Mone.

"AEW is the logical choice at this point because her husband Adam Copeland is where Beth Copeland belongs at this point. So yes she's a recognizable face to the fans that watched her and followed her in WWE and I think it would be a good move since she's not with WWE anymore. This would be a good logical choice and I think I'd like to see her in terms of promos battling Mercedes Mone the CEO," Apter said. [From 00:28 to 1:08]

Teddy Long also shared his thoughts on WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix's future

In the same episode, former SmackDown GM Teddy Long also spoke about The Glamazon's next destination and noted that Adam Copeland and Beth Phoenix have kids which could mean that she might stay at home.

However, the legend claimed that wherever Beth Phoenix goes, she will make an impact:

"But you know, they also have kids too, you've got to think about that part too. Beth may decide she wants to stay home with the kids, so we just don't know, we just have to wait and see what happens, but I think, anywhere she goes, she will make an impact."

Phoenix has some fresh talent she could face in AEW including teaming up with her husband Adam Copeland. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former Women's Champion.
