AEW manager chooses his side in Swerve Strickland's feud
Swerve Strickland made headlines at the AEW WrestleDream pa-per-view when he openly defied MVP and Shelton Benjamin and chose Prince Nana. It was indeed an emotional moment for the All Elite manager.
The future of Strickland has been a constant source of speculation ever since MVP made his AEW debut last month and started his charm offensive. He did so by targeting Prince Nana, and this was done at a time when the former AEW World Champion was not present.
After the events of WrestleDream, where Swerve Strickland openly rejected the overtures of The Hurt Syndicate and called Nana his family, there was a palpable sigh from the fans in Washington. Prince Nana has now taken to X/Twitter, to sum up his feelings over what happened yesterday.
Posting a picture from the interaction, he wrote:
“Family over everything 🕺🏾🕺🏾😁☕️💰💰http://PrinceNanaCoffee.com ☕️.”
Konnan says MVP buried Swerve Strickland's manager during AEW debut
Prince Nana and MVP had a confrontation when the latter made his debut at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. MVP revealed that he wished to take over Nana as Strickland's manager. Following this, Prince Nana felt embarrassed.
While speaking on his K100 podcast, wrestling veteran Konnan said that the former WWE star essentially buried Prince Nana during their interaction.
“The only thing I would have added to that is why would Nana keep the card. I would have, when, once MVP left, I would have burnt that. I'm not your messenger. I would have said 'I'm not messenger,' ripped that in his mug and walked off. He kind of buried him,” he said.
With Strickland now openly deciding to side with his current manager, it will be interesting to see what will happen between him and MVP. With Bobby Lashley also reported to make his AEW debut soon, things could get very interesting.
