AEW might have spoiled popular star's huge return after nearly a year

AEW fans continue to wait patiently for the return of several roster members who are away for various reasons, from injuries to contract disputes. A fan-favorite has been away for almost a year, and frustration has been growing, but now there's new speculation about the company potentially spoiling the highly-anticipated comeback.

Danhausen has not wrestled for All Elite Wrestling since the Battle Royal at the Worlds End Zero Hour pre-show on December 30, 2023. Despite coming down to the final three, the 34-year-old was not booked to compete inside the All Elite ring after that, and his last ROH date was a win over Brandon Cutler on February 14. Danhausen remains signed to an All Elite contract, which runs into summer 2025, but has also stayed busy on the indies, and the company is still selling his merchandise at events.

Kid Gorgeous recently had some communication with Tony Khan's company after a creative team writer reached out, as revealed in a recent report. This fueled rumors and speculation on Danhausen's future, and that talk picked up this week when ShopAEW released a new t-shirt for the face-painted star.

AEW's new "Arise" t-shirt for Danhausen is available for $29.99 for sizes S-XL, with upcharges for 2X-5X. Danhausen did re-post the announcement on his new merchandise, but he did not provide comment as he often does.

"ARISE! Get this NEW @danhausenad shirt today at ShopAEW.com!," wrote ShopAEW with the graphic below.

The "Very Nice, Very Evil" star has also stayed busy with appearances at signings and conventions. He had a big weekend at the popular WrestleCade event in North Carolina last month.

Danhausen responds to inquiry on AEW action figures

Danhausen had a large following when he signed with All Elite Wrestling in January 2022. The popular wrestler has gained more fans since then, even during his lengthy absence.

Kid Gorgeous often interacts with his loyal supporters on social media. Shortly after sharing his new All Elite t-shirt, one fan asked Danhausen how much money he receives from a $20 action figure sold at Target. He responded with an interesting claim.

"35 cents," Danhausen wrote.

It remains to be seen if this amount is correct for All Elite royalties, but it seems about right. WWE talents reportedly received fifty cents per action figure sold as recently as 2021, although the company has not confirmed these numbers.
