AEW Originals warn The Young Bucks ahead of WrestleDream title match: "Our time has finally come"
AEW is gearing up for its return to pay-per-view for WrestleDream. The Young Bucks are set to defend their World Tag Team Title at the second annual event, but they have just received a surprise threat from a familiar tag team. The bold statement is going viral for how brash and honest the five-time champions were.
Private Party are AEW Originals. Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy signed in early 2019, before the inaugural Double or Nothing, but they did not debut until Fyter Fest the following month. The duo has received five title shots in the past but they failed to capture the title. Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson are in their record-setting third reign as AEW World Tag Team Champions. The EVPs defeated FTR for the vacant titles in April and since then have retained four times.
Private Party defeated The House of Black and Top Flight on Saturday's Collision episode to become the new number one contender for The Young Bucks' title. The two teams will clash at AEW WrestleDream in less than one week. The former GCW and HOG tag team champions took to X/Twitter today with a defiant statement.
"This match already has HIGH stakes. However, after 5 years this will be our FIRST EVER official tag team match on a PPV. Tired of being overlooked & passed on. Next Saturday, those conversations go to rest. Our time has finally come & we're not wasting this opportunity," Isiah Kassidy wrote.
WrestleDream will mark the fourth two-on-two bout between The Bucks and Private Party. While the NYC natives won their first-ever showdown in October 2019, The Bucks got the win back on Dynamite in November 2020, and again this past March. Matt and Nick also defeated Isiah and Marq at HOG High Intensity 8, just one month before the teams locked up on Dynamite in 2019.
