AEW performer shares health update after being stretchered out of arena
A top AEW talent was recently injured at a major promotion shortly after returning from injury last month. The star being discussed is El Hijo Del Vikingo.
The 27-year-old star has occasionally wrestled for AEW since 2023. He wrestled just two matches in 2024, as he was absent most of the time. El Hijo Del Vikingo injured his right knee in February earlier this year and was out until September.
The former AAA Mega Champion returned to action last month. He recently wrestled at TNA's Bound of Glory show, where he failed to capture the TNA X Division Championship. At the recent tapings of the promotion, he wrestled Trent Seven and injured his leg once again. He was stretchered out of the arena immediately.
Following the unfortunate situation, El Hijo Del Vikingo took to social media and claimed he wasn't upset after the injury. He was looking to recover and make a huge comeback.
“Thanks to my brother Laredo Kid for accompanying me and keeping an eye on me. I chose this sport, I am happy for the good and the bad. I will recover and come back stronger than ever. Thanks to everyone who sent me a message!” he wrote.
Konnan praises AEW regular El Hijo Del Vikingo and compares him to Rey Mysterio
El Hijo Del Vikingo and Rey Mysterio are popular high-flyers in their promotions. The former has been showcasing his talent all around the world for years.
While speaking on Keeping It 100 OFFICIAL, Konnan compared the 27-year-old star's innovation skills to that of Rey Mysterio.
"What sets Vikingo apart is he invents stuff, he creates stuff like Rey Mysterio did and Psicosis did, that nobody else is doing and nobody else has thought of," he said.
It will be interesting to see when El Hijo Del Vikingo recovers from injury and returns to AEW.
