AEW President Tony Khan lashes out at WWE; terms it the "Harvey Weinstein of wrestling"

AEW President Tony Khan is still recovering from the attack perpetrated on him by The Young Bucks and Jack Perry this past Wednesday, but that didn't stop him from lashing out at WWE during an interview.

The NFL is gearing up for the second day of its annual Draft, and Tony Khan is naturally present as co-owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was spotted in the Jaguars draft room last night wearing a neck brace. The AEW owner took a 'Tony Khan Driver' from The Young Bucks on the latest episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite.

Khan appeared for an interview on today's NFL Draft Kickoff stream, where he spoke about the Jaguars' second and third-round picks. He also addressed the attack he suffered this week, claiming that he was lucky to be alive.

In promoting All Elite Wrestling, Khan referred to WWE as an "evil juggernaut" and "the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling."

"We are the most successful sports startup since the AFL, pre-merger," said Khan. "There has not been a challenger brand that has gained as much market share as AEW in many, many, many years. We are like the Pepsi of pro wrestling, and we're up against a really evil juggernaut. WWE is our competitor, that's who we're facing. AEW is like the Pepsi of pro wrestling; WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling." [01:47 to 02:13]

Tony Khan has made it a point to sell the effects of the attack since Wednesday night, and his words will undoubtedly spark discussion in the wrestling world. Whether WWE responds to his remarks remains to be seen.
