AEW Rampage ratings fall off a cliff after former WWE Superstar's debut

The latest installment of AEW Rampage was nothing short of spectacular. The Tony Khan-led promotion had four matches featured this week.

As per the Sports TV Rating, the show drew 342,000 viewers. This rating is low from last week, as it drew 407,000 on the prior show. This was 21.4 percent less than last week.

Despite former WWE Superstar Mistico being advertised for the show, it could not pull more audience. The Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre star locked horns with Rocky Romero to open the show. Their match drew 0.11 ratings for the 18-49 demographics, which is 0.14 less than last week. Moreover, this was 21.4 percent less than last week.

The second match of the show was for the AEW International Championship Contender, where John Silver defeated Brother Zay and Kip Sabian in a thrilling Triple-Threat Match.

Furthermore, Blackpool Combat Club's Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta defeated Bryan Keith and Exodus Prime. The main event saw Ruby Soho defeat Skye Blue to end this week's show.

AEW ticket sales increased after the debut of Mistico was announced

This week's AEW Rampage saw Mistico debut against Rocky Romero in a 2-out-of-3-Falls Match.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW's ticket sales increased following Tony Khan's announcement. Since this announcement was made, over 2100 tickets were sold.

Mistico was eventually able to get the win by making Romero tap out to his trademark armbar. The CMLL star immediately made an impact on the show in his debut match against Rocky Romero.

The overall show was mediocre and, therefore, drew fewer viewers despite debuting a huge star.
