AEW reportedly has some "out of the box" plans for Sammy Guevara's return
Sammy Guevara has been out of action for a long time. However, AEW reportedly has some "out of the box" plans in place for his return.
Guevara is one of the best homegrown talents in AEW. He started his All Elite Wrestling career alongside Chris Jericho in the Inner Circle. Under Jericho's guidance, the 30-year-old's career flourished and the two men have remained together for a major part of their time in Tony Khan's promotion.
Sammy was able to get over with fans due to his risk-taking nature. However, it was this same nature that got him in trouble in the first place. A few months ago, he hit a dive from the top rope and landed on Jeff Hardy's nose, breaking it.
Despite this, he didn't end the match there and hit his finisher on the veteran for the win. This move got him some heat backstage and he was suspended from the promotion. Since this incident, he has not been seen on AEW television.
During a recent Fightful Q&A session, wrestling journalist, Sean Ross Sapp, was asked about Guevara's return. Sapp responded that there had been some talks and some "out of the box" stuff was planned for the returning star.
“I have heard that there have been talks, creative plans for him. Little bit outside the box stuff planned for him, which is good because I don’t think you need to have him with Chris Jericho anymore,” said Sapp. [ H/T: Ringside News]
Sammy Guevara recently sent an emotional message to his wife
Sammy Guevara and fellow AEW star Tay Melo tied the knot in 2022 after dating for a few years. The couple even welcomed a beautiful baby daughter. Sammy and Tay often post heartfelt photos and clips of their time as a family, showing their love.
Tay Melo recently celebrated her 29th birthday and Sammy Guevara, took to social media to post an emotional birthday message for his wife. He thanked her for their life together and their child and wished her day was special.
"To my best friend, Thank you for everything you do for me and our family. Thank you for giving us a beautiful little mini us. Rather we are traveling the world or just on our couch there is no other place I’d rather want to be than next to you! Today is for you @taymelo Happy Birthday you beautiful soul [red heart emoji]," Sammy Guevara wrote.
It remains to be seen when the Spanish God will finally make his in-ring return to AEW.
