AEW's own fans are starting to turn on Tony Khan after several unpopular decisions, observes veteran (Exclusive)

Tony Khan's AEW has built a loyal audience over the past several years. However, WWE veteran Vince Russo believes the company is losing its fanbase.

AEW has been a major promotion since its inception in 2019. The company has gone through many changes and has had its fair share of ups and downs over the years. But, All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan still try their best to remain a true alternative to WWE by providing some dream matches between top stars of professional wrestling.

Speaking in the recent edition of Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo podcast with Dr. Chris Featherstone, Vince Russo claimed that AEW's fans were starting to turn against the company and TK. He explained how fans point out that the product from the past was way better than the current one.

"I think their own fans are starting to turn against them. I think that's what's happening. You're reading a lot of that. I'm reading so many tweets of people saying how good it was at the beginning and they can't watch it anymore. So you got a lot of fans they had that are now turning that product off when you get to that kind of territory, Chris, that's bad." [1:00-1:32]

Vince Russo claims loyal fans are also turning against AEW

In the same video, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo pointed out how the diehard fans of All Elite Wrestling are also leaving comments about the displeasure they find with the promotion. He claimed that they are turning on AEW and agreed with Eric Bischoff's comments about All Elite Wrestling. Easy E has been vocal about the problems of the company but Tony Khan does not seem bothered by his controversial takes.

"The problem is nobody was talking about it for a long time because either you are a diehard fan and watching it or you just weren't watching it. But now you're getting those diehard fans commenting on it. That's the point you're at now. I mean, they used to be so loyal, Chris, no matter what, and now they're starting to turn. So, I mean, when Bischoff says looking at half a million, I can definitely say." [2:41 - 3:18]

The fans will have to wait and see if Tony Khan changes things up once All Elite Wrestling airs on Max starting January 2025.
