AEW's Mercedes Mone dreams of wrestling 48-year-old WWE Hall of Famer: "Still wish I could lock up with her"
The current AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, expressed her desire to get in the ring with a legendary WWE Hall of Famer. Mone recalled how she admired the legend back in the day.
The 48-year-old WWE Hall of Famer in question is Trish Stratus. Trish is considered one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time. She also won a number of accolades during her prime in the Stamford-based promotion. Stratus also had a brief run in WWE last year where she feuded with Becky Lynch.
Meanwhile, the current AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone recalled watching Trish Stratus on TV and said she can still go in the ring. Mone and Trish have never squared off against each other in their career. In the recent edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes expressed her wish to square off against Stratus:
"Trish Stratus- She was just THE GIRL back in the day. And even now, she can just go. I watched her on TV as a fan in her prime and still wish I could lock up with her." [H/T Mone Mag]
Mercedes Mone heaped praise on the former AEW Women's World Champion
Recently, the former AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm, topped the PWI 250 women's list. In her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone praised Storm, stating the following:
"I want to give Toni Storm a standing ovation. To see Toni Storm on the Cover of PWI was incredible. She has been killing it these past couple of years, transforming into this incredible character. I’m not afraid to admit it, but before I even signed with AEW, the main reason I watched AEW Dynamite every single week was largely to see Toni. Her recognition as #1 in the PWI 250 is SO well deserved."
Moreover, both Mercedes and Storm are currently signed with AEW and only time will tell when they cross paths in the ring.
