AEW's Mercedes Mone reacts to WWE announcing a massive change to RAW after 12 years
American professional wrestler Mercedes Mone debuted for AEW earlier this year. Even though she is still new to the promotion, she has achieved immense success. She is currently a double title holder as he holds the AEW TBS Championship and the Strong Women's Championship.
Mercedes Mone is best known for her run in the WWE. She won numerous championships during her time there, especially the WWE Raw Women's Championship a staggering five times. For the longest time, WWE Raw ran for three hours.
However, it was recently announced that the show would reduce its runtime to two hours soon. This revelation has received mixed responses from fans and people associated with the industry. Interestingly, the CEO is skeptical about this decision.
In her newsletter, Moné Mag Volume 2, Issue #15, the 32-year-old stated that she cherished the extra hour in the show because it gave wrestlers more time to showcase their skills, especially women.
"Now, let’s talk RAW. Word is that it's dropping from 3 hours to 2, and honestly, I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I’ve always loved having that extra hour because it gives more performers a chance to shine. Losing that time could mean fewer opportunities for the roster. It's hard enough for talent, especially women to get TV time," wrote Mone.
Mercedes Mone is happy about Megan Thee Stallion's recent success
WWE SmackDown's new intro theme features a song by popular rapper Megan Thee Stallion. In the past, Mone hinted at working with her. In the above-mentioned newsletter, she stated that she was happy for Megan and was glad that the artist would get exposed to a wrestling audience.
"While I would have loved to work with Meg and would have loved to see her work with our brand, I'm still happy for her. She's a great person and talent who will get exposure to the vast wrestling audience," it read.
Mercedes Mone is having a dominant run as the AEW TBS Champion and it is to be seen what the future holds for her in the Jacksonville-based company.
