AEW's recovery this week brings relief to Tony Khan after previous beatdown
AEW has been failing to keep a steady hand in drawing ratings and viewers for Dynamite, Collision, and Rampage. Last week, the Friday night show drew its lowest rating ever in the company's history, which was a huge worrying aspect for Tony Khan. However, after a week of low viewership, Collision's ratings have bounced back slightly.
The show opened with Thunder Rosa defeating Harley Cameron in a Day of the Dead Match. The second bout saw Kyle Fletcher and Komander tear the house down, with the Protostar building momentum after scoring a victory over his opponent.
After a squash match in which Brian Cage and Lance Archer emerged victorious, Jon Moxley and his crew made their way to the ring and confronted Orange Cassidy. The latter assaulted Wheeler Yuta after the One True King sent Yuta to beat the Freshly Squeezed star. Later, Lio Rush defeated Ariya Daivari in a short contest.
Also, Roderick Strong took one step closer to facing MJF at Full Gear by picking up a victory against Shane Taylor. In the main event, Mariah May retained her AEW Women's World Championship against Anna Jay in a blockbuster contest.
As per Wrestlenomics, the most recent edition of Collision drew 349,000 viewers and was rated 0.09 among the 18-49 demographics. The number has increased compared to last week, when it averaged just 321,000 viewers.
It will be interesting to see if AEW Collision can increase its ratings in the future.
