AEW's Renee Paquette reacts to Baron Corbin's unexpected WWE exit
Baron Corbin recently parted ways with WWE. His contract was set to expire later this year. AEW's Renee Paquette reacted to the unexpected news of his departure on social media.
The news of Corbin's departure hit the internet on Friday evening. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that WWE gave him a notice saying that his contract wouldn't be renewed after its expiry.
A few hours ago, The Lone Wolf shared a post on X (fka Twitter) and confirmed the news about his exit from the global entertainment juggernaut. Renee Paquette reacted to his tweet with a single emoji.
"[Red heart emjoi]," Paquette commented.
Ricochet also shared a three-word reaction to the same tweet on X. King Corbin joined WWE in 2012. His last match in the company was in the October 18 edition of SmackDown where he wrestled and defeated Giovanni Vinci in a dark match.
Dutch Mantell reacts to Baron Corbin's WWE exit
Speaking on this week's edition of Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell commented on WWE releasing Baron Corbin. He stated that the Stamford-based promotion made the right decision as The Lone Wolf was not doing much for the company.
"That's a long time to hit and miss with the guy. And he got 12 years out of it. So, he filled in employment for 12 years. I'm glad for him. I'd hate anybody to lose their job. But after a while, if it becomes boring for people to watch them, it's time to change. I don't think they did anything different with Baron Corbin. You know, when I would see him coming to the ring, I am ready to go get me a cup of coffee or get a coke or something because I can miss that," he said.
Other superstars like Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox were also released from their WWE contracts with immediate effect. They will be free to explore and wrestle in other companies after the non-compete clause expires in 90 days.
