AEW's Ricochet recalls working with Brock Lesnar: "You feel helpless!"
AEW star Ricochet recently opened up about working with former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. The erstwhile Prince Puma left WWE earlier this year.
Brock Lesnar and Ricochet had a mini-feud in February 2020. Ricochet challenged The Beast for the WWE Title at Super ShowDown, where he was on the receiving end of some brutal German Suplexes from Lesnar. The former UFC star quickly squashed Ricochet to retain his WWE Championship at the PLE.
In a recent chat on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Ricochet shared how it felt while taking the German Suplexes from The Beast Incarnate. The AEW star revealed that he felt helpless while taking the moves, as he had no control while getting tossed around.
"That's exactly how that works. He throws you, and then you go flying. That's A and B of it. That's kind of all there is. You have no control; I mean, he's in there throwing Braun [Strowman]; he's in there throwing Bobby [Lashley] and Drew [McIntyre]. So, once he gets me like, you always wanna make stuff look good, but that's another one where I just had no control over how it'd look because he's just tossing you. Literally, you feel helpless!'' he said. [56:20-56:58]
AEW star Ricochet reveals Samantha Irvin had been planning to leave WWE for a while
Ricochet is the fiance of Samantha Irvin, who recently departed WWE. Samantha's exit came as a shocker to many, as she was the top ring announcer in the Stamford-based promotion.
During the same interaction with Chris Van Vliet, the AEW star revealed that Samantha had been planning to leave WWE since WrestleMania 40. Ricochet further revealed that announcing was only supposed to be Samantha's ''way into WWE,'' adding that the 35-year-old wanted to be a character on TV.
"She's been talking about that for a while, even before my stuff [contract] was up. I think it happened at WrestleMania. I think this year's WrestleMania [40] was for her, because, especially for her, announcing was only supposed to be like the way into WWE. Because she, first and foremost, is a fan. Before all of that, she grew up with it. Her dad watched it, and her brothers grew up with it. So, of course, yes, she's a performer!" he said.
We will have to wait and see if Samantha Irvin joins Ricochet in AEW. However, it is unlikely, as her current plan seems to be moving on from professional wrestling.
