AEW’s Swerve Strickland makes career-altering announcement ahead of WrestleDream
Swerve Strickland will be making his return to AEW at WrestleDream. Ahead of this, he has spoken about his career and what could be in store for him in the next few weeks.
On the latest edition of Dynamite, it was announced that the former AEW World Champion would appear at the pay-per-view. This was fitting, seeing that the event was taking place in his home state of Washington. He has not been seen since his Lights Out Steel Cage match against Hangman Adam Page at All Out last month.
During his appearance on No Contest Wrestling, Swerve Strickland talked about his return on Saturday. He mentioned how he has many things to address, including what happened a month ago and what is currently happening on the promotion. The star felt that no matter what it would be, the people watching would enjoy it.
"There's a lot in the past I can address. The last time ya'll saw me, I was knocked completely out by Hangman Page in a cage match. Got a lot of people talking for a whole month. I wasn't even on camera. There's a lot I can address there. There's a lot I can address with the current. There is a lot I can address with the future. That's the beauty about my presence on this show, especially my hometown and the city where I was born. There is a lot I can go into," said Swerve Strickland.
He continued by listing down some other things he could discuss, such as his health, his recent back-to-back losses, and even his current relationship with Prince Nana.
"Maybe there are things I have to say to Nana because there are a lot of business things that went awry with my presence being gone. No championship. Lost the main event of All Out, back-to-back. There are positives out there, the contract. I'm going to be signed for a long time. There are things to address there. My health condition. I haven't been cleared for a month now. There are things to address there. There are a lot of things I have on my mind that I can express and go a bunch of different ways. This isn't a talking segment. This is me really conveying new news with me personally, my businesses outside of this." [H/T Fightful]
Swerve Strickland sent out a short message after his return date was revealed
Swerve Strickland has also recently hinted at addressing the MVP situation during his appearance this weekend.
After AEW dropped the announcement of his return, he took to X/Twitter and posted a three-word message. It was clear that he had plans to talk about the whole situation and possibly have a face-to-face encounter with the former WWE star.
"Lets talk business," he wrote.
MVP will surely have Shelton Benjamin by his side, while Swerve Strickland will have Prince Nana. It remains to be seen what other surprises fans may get during this segment at WrestleDream pay-per-view.
