AEW’s tag division needs "a little kick in the a**": claims WWE legend

A WWE legend has claimed that AEW’s tag division needed "a kick in the a**." This should no doubt galvanize Tony Khan to do more with the division.

Matt Hardy is the legend in question. Hardy was with AEW till a few months back but is now a part of TNA where he competes alongside his brother Jeff Hardy. Matt was a part of the tag team division during his time at the Jacksonville-based promotion and has now said that the division needed a wake-up call.

He also stated that Tony Khan needs to give the Private Party a push and that he believes that might rejuvenate the tag division. Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, he said:

"They weren't ready to be the top tag team and carry the division at all. But over the time, they have learned and specifically Isaiah. Isaiah really is tuned in to what he needs to be doing nowadays. And he has a good grasp, not only of what to do in the ring and how to execute a match, but also how to perform as a character. He is really on the pulse nowadays...I am hoping that Tony pulls the trigger on them. The tag team division does need a little kick in the a**. It needs an extra spark really to get it going and kind of rejuvenate it." [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Former WWE star Matt Hardy thinks Chris Jericho is the MVP of AEW

Chris Jericho has been a part of AEW since its inception and he has had some memorable feuds over the years.

Upon being asked on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast a few days back who Matt thought was the MVP of the last five years at All Elite Wrestling. He said that reminiscent of Hulk Hogan at WCW, Chris Jericho had played that role to perfection at AEW, following the promotion's inception in 2019.

"That’s a great question. I do think that... Chris Jericho is kind of reminiscent of Hulk Hogan at WCW, to a degree, because he was the guy that came in, he was the big star, legit top guy, and he was a great representative for people that were just going to tune into AEW, like, 'I don’t know all these guys that are here, but I do know Chris Jericho.' So, Jericho is the first person that pops in my mind when you think about the first five years because he’s been the guy that has represented AEW more than anything," Matt Hardy said.

Chris Jericho will no doubt be happy to see the respect he is getting from his esteemed peers.
