AEW star Athena breaks silence after major accomplishment

Athena is one of the most talented individuals in women's wrestling at the moment. The former WWE Superstar recently crossed a major milestone in her career and she took to social media to comment on the same.

Athena made her wrestling debut in 2007 and has competed in several promotions including ROH before signing with WWE in 2015 under the ring name Ember Moon. During her run, she won the NXT Women's Championship and was later called up to the main roster, which was lackluster and resulted in her departure from the promotion in 2021.

Following this, she debuted in AEW and later became a regular competitor in ROH after Tony Khan bought the promotion. The former WWE star proved her skills when she defeated Mercedes Martinez for the ROH Women's World Championship in 2022 making her only the fourth champion in the title's short history. The first ROH Women's World Champion is Roxanne Perez who currently works in NXT and is the reigning NXT Women's Champion.

As ROH Women's World Champion, the former Ember Moon has proven herself to be a dominating force in the ring. She recently reached the 600-day mark as champion. Following this historic achievement, she took to social media to send a message to her fans.

".@ringofhonor Forever can be a long time... Bwahahaha Happy 600 days to me !!!#ForeverROHChamp #MinionOverlord #FallenGoddess #TheInspiration #TheRealAlpha #ROHGATEKEEPER," she wrote.

Athena is in talks with Tony Khan about returning to AEW

Before her dominant reign as ROH Women's World Champion, Athena had made sporadic appearances in AEW. However, she has only made one appearance on the promotion in 2024 when she competed at Battle of the Belts X in April. This has left fans wondering if they will see her as a regular performer on AEW television.

During a recent interview with Stephanie Chase, the former WWE star mentioned that she is in talks with Tony Khan about returning to AEW.

"It's something that Tony and I talk about quite a bit in person. It's like... OK, we did Battle of the Belts, you know, we're sprinkling it here and there. We've done pre-shows on multiple pay-per-views with myself and Billie Starkz, and Lexi Nair in there as well. I think it's just a matter of time," Athena said. [From 9:50 to 10:08]

It remains to be seen if the ROH Women's World Champion will make her return to Tony Khan's promotion anytime soon.
