AEW star breaks silence after Full Gear loss
A top AEW star posted on social media regarding her recent loss at Full Gear. The star being discussed is Kris Statlander.
Mercedes Mone and Statlander had been feuding for months. The latter picked up multiple wins to earn a shot at the champion. After defeating Harley Cameron, Hikaru Shida, Mercedes' henchwoman Kamille, and many other stars, her match with The CEO was made official at Full Gear pay-per-view.
Mercedes, who has been holding the TBS Championship since May 2024, has faced multiple challenges in order to defend the championship. Her last pay-per-view match took place at All Out where she defeated Shida.
Kris Statlander and Mercedes Mone tore the house down at Full Gear. Despite the former TBS Champion's best efforts, Statlander failed to capture the title. Following the major setback, she took to X/Twitter and thanked her fans for their support.
"May not have come out of #AEWFullGear the 2x TBS Champion, but still the champion of your hearts. Thanks for making every night feel like it’s Staturday Night," she wrote.
AEW star Kris Statlander was confident she would take down The CEO
Kris Statlander and Mercedes Mone had intense confrontations during the past few weeks, often ending in beatdowns on each other ahead of their Full Gear contest.
While cutting a passionate promo before the pay-per-view, the challenger vowed to stand tall at the Full Gear but failed to do so.
"Mercedes Mone, she is one of the best. She will do anything that she can to win, and she is most dangerous when she has her back against the wall, which is exactly where it is because everything that she has tried hasn't worked. I am still standing and I am gonna be the one standing tall at Full Gear when I become the new TBS Champion," she said.
It will be interesting to see how Kris Statlander is going to redeem herself after the huge loss.
