AEW star breaks silence after Mark Henry claims the former called him "stupid" behind his back
An AEW star recently addressed Mark Henry's claim related to him. The name in question is none other than Q.T. Marshall.
The World's Strongest Man parted ways from Tony Khan's AEW in May 2024. In a recent appearance on the HUGE POP podcast, the veteran claimed that Marshall once called him stupid behind his back.
However, the 53-year-old added that he continued to work with Marshall as he thought that the latter must have made a sarcastic comment instead of genuinely intending offense.
Meanwhile, in a recent appearance on the Gabby AF podcast, Q.T. Marshall clarified that he never made such a comment about Mark Henry, claiming that he liked the WWE Hall of Famer a lot.
“Speaking of Mark Henry, he said [that] I called him stupid. I don’t know where; I read it somewhere. He said like, ‘The reason I didn’t care is because I don’t believe it was true,’ and I’m thinking in my head like,'[When] would I have called him stupid?' I actually like Mark a lot, right, to the point, where like I did with Paul Wight. I actually thought of ideas to get Mark back in the ring. I’m big on like, 'This will be easy, fun!' Plus, I could tell when people still want, like, that one more match, I want to give it to them. Costco guy, right?" he said.
The AEW star also sent a heartfelt message to Henry, asserting that he never called the legendary wrestler stupid.
"I just want to say, Mark, I don’t remember saying that, but he did say that whoever told him would take a bullet for him. So, I wish when he heard that, he would have brought me in[to] a room with the other person and sat us down, as uncomfortable as that would have been. One, I would’ve admitted to it, or the other person would [have] had to admit that they’re lying. Mark, if you’re listening, I don’t remember calling you that; I don’t know why I would say that,” he added. [H/T: Fightful]
Mark Henry left AEW earlier this year
Mark Henry shocked fans when he turned All Elite in May 2021. The World's Strongest Man signed a multi-year deal with the promotion and worked as an announcer and coach.
In an appearance on the Busted Open podcast earlier this year, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion confirmed that he wouldn't renew his deal with AEW. The veteran clarified that there was no bad blood between both parties, adding that he had a great experience in Tony Khan's promotion. His contract expired on May 28, 2024.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Henry responds to Marshall's comments.
