AEW star Buddy Matthews reacts to Corey Graves referencing him at WWE Bad Blood
AEW star Buddy Matthews was referenced by Corey Graves during WWE Bad Blood last night. The House of Black member has reacted to the commentator's reference.
At WWE Bad Blood 2024 PLE, Rhea Ripley looked to regain her Women's World Championship from Liv Morgan. However, The Eradicator failed to capture the title after interference from a returning Raquel Rodriquez which led to Morgan retaining the title via disqualification. After the match, commentator Corey Graves hoped Rhea Ripley would find happiness after her loss and referenced AEW's Buddy Matthews in his comment.
On Instagram, Buddy Matthews reacted to Corey Graves' call by quoting it in his brand new post after Bad Blood, and tagging the commentator:
"A guy with Big muscles & Australian…."
Buddy Matthews claims Rhea Ripley is the greatest to ever do it in WWE
Rhea Ripley was called up to the main roster in 2021 and has become one of the most successful stars in WWE. She has won multiple titles in both NXT and on the main roster and it's safe to assume that Mami has a lot of title reigns left for the future.
In a recent virtual signing on K&S WrestleFest, Buddy Matthews noted that Rhea Ripley is only 27 years old but has more than 10 years to look forward to in professional wrestling. The House of Black member called her the greatest to ever do it in the Stamford-based promotion.
"Rhea is 27 years old. So she’s got another 10 years to go, plus. So, you can listen to the audiences, you can hear the responses that she’s getting and I ask her all the time, I say, ‘You do A, B and C.’ She goes, ‘Do I?’ She doesn’t even know what she’s doing. She’s just being her. She’s 100 percent authentic to being herself and having fun and when you’re having fun, it comes through the TV. So, yeah, she could be the greatest to ever do it, in my opinion," Matthews said.
Rhea Ripley was attacked by Raquel Rodriquez during her Women's World Championship match at Bad Blood. We will have to wait and see why the former NXT Women's Champion targeted Mami this week on Monday Night RAW.
