AEW star calls himself the "best wrestler alive," teases match with Will Ospreay

The AEW roster is diverse with a wide range of talents, from high-flyers to mat technicians, and well-rounded stars such as Will Ospreay. A fan reached out to Tony Khan with a request this week, and a controversial wrestler has just responded with a bold claim and an apparent challenge.

The Commonwealth Kingpin returned to AEW as a full-time talent earlier this year and has won all 9 matches since then, including a few first-time-ever bouts. However, one rising star he has not faced yet is Max Caster. The braggadocious member of The Acclaimed is outspoken but regarded by many as someone who can back up his tough talk.

Platinum Max took to X today to respond to a fan who asked Khan to book him against Ospreay. The 9-year veteran seemingly threw shade at the 7-time NJPW champion by calling himself the Best Wrestler Alive and referring to Ospreay as the best Japanese wrestler.

"Best Wrestler Alive [trademark emoji] vs the best Japanese wrestler of all time… the match sells itself!," Max Caster wrote.

Caster has been working indie shows since claiming he was suspended by the company last month. His suspension announcement coincided with his in-ring return to the Indies. It should be noted that Caster did wrestle for AEW after claiming he was suspended as he and Anthony Bowens defeated the debuting Grizzled Young Veterans on the April 27 edition of Collision.
