AEW star claims they have pushed for new titles since Day 37
One of AEW's original signings has revealed that they have been pushing for a new set of championships to be introduced since the early days of the company's existence.
The star in question is former AEW Women's Champion Nyla Rose, who was one of the first women signed to All Elite Wrestling back in 2019 and has found a lot of success during her run in the company.
But Nyla wants more gold for the women's division, and during an interview with MuscleManMalcolm on "Muscle Memory," The Native Beast admitted that she has wanted tag team titles for the All Elite Wrestling women's division since the early days of the company.
"I have been pushing for this since day 37. I'm not going to say day one, I wanted the world title from day one, but after things settled a little bit, I've been pushing for Women's Tag Titles. I would love to not only win them, but also introduce them, bring them in. I would love to get Women's Tag Titles. Would love to hold them with Marina Shafir. Do that and then I can be the actual grand slam champion." (H/T Fightful)
The AEW Women's Championship will be on the line this week on Dynamite
While Nyla Rose might have to be patient when it comes to the AEW Women's Tag Team Championships, she can certainly keep her eye on the singles titles as the Women's Championship will be on the line this week on Dynamite.
Hikaru Shida will look to make her second defense of her crown when she takes on Ruby Soho. Shida has already defeated Soho's Outcasts stablemate Saraya to become the champion, as well as her mentor Emi Sakura to retain her crown last week on Dynamite.
Shida won't be the only one defending her title on Dynamite this week, as Hangman Page and The Young Bucks will be defending the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships against The Hardys and Brother Zay.
