AEW star claims she’s “banged up” after grueling match
An AEW star recently revealed that she is tired after a ruthless match at a recent event. The star being discussed is Leyla Hirsch. She recently wrestled in a violent match at the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
The 27-year-old star has been one of the fastest-rising stars in the promotion. She started wrestling in 2017 and wrestled in several independent promotions, before getting a massive break in the Jacksonville-based promotion. She signed with AEW in 2020 and has been a regular feature in the company.
Since 2023, Leyla has been a mainstay of the second Tony Khan-owned promotion, Ring of Honor. The star made several appearances in AEW this year too. Her latest match took place in June on an episode of Collision where she teamed up with Lady Frost in a losing effort against Toni Storm and Mariah May.
On the recent ROH pay-per-view Death Before Dishonor, the star battled Diamante in a Texas Death Match and secured victory in the brutal contest. She recently took to Twitter and claimed to have set the bar after participating in an extremely violent match.
"Banged up, bruised and battered but still riding that high. First ever female Texas death match and I’d say we didn’t just raise the bar, we set it! Time to give us the respect that we deserve," she tweeted.
