AEW star denies that he slept with Chyna: "Do not believe everything you hear on the internet"
Many in AEW and WWE locker rooms have wrestlers who were friends with Chyna. The wrestling legend passed away almost nine years ago, but the industry has kept her memory alive. One of her longtime friends was recently asked a crass question about an online rumor from years ago, and he responded by sharing a very telling memory of the one-of-a-kind grappler, along with a bit of internet advice.
The Ninth Wonder of the World began her wrestling journey in 1995. She joined WWE in February 1997 but left after almost five years. Chyna later competed in a few matches in Japan in mid-2002 and joined TNA for a brief program in May 2011. The New York native's final match of her career took place at Sacrifice pay-per-view on May 15, where she teamed up with Kurt Angle for a loss to Karen and Jeff Jarrett. Chyna unexpectedly passed away on April 17, 2016, at the age of forty-six.
The two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion was romantically linked to real-life partners Triple H and Sean Waltman and was rumored to be involved with others over the years. While on The Pearl'd Up Podcast, Billy Gunn was asked if there's any truth to rumors that he and Chyna hooked up.
The former DX member quickly dismissed the talk and warned everyone about believing what's on the internet. The current AEW star then recalled how he had his own Tigger-themed toothbrush at Chyna's apartment, which she purchased knowing how Daddy A*s is a big fan of the toy tiger character from the Winnie-the-Pooh series.
"That is not true. Do not believe everything you hear on the internet. [Gunn was asked about their relationship] She was one of my best friends, I loved her to death. Passed away way too early. I love her, there's nothing, I mean I don't even have any stories, other than me and her used to go to the gym. I did have my own toothbrush at her house, so when I was in Los Angeles I got to stay with her. It was a little Tigger [toothbrush] that she got me because she knows I like Tigger because she is awesome and caring about everybody," Billy Gunn said. [From 1:09 to 1:43]
Chyna was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019 as a member of D-Generation X. There is still a push for her individual induction. Due to the contract dispute, the legend competed in her final match in the Stamford-based company at Judgment Day Premium Live Event in May 2001, where she retained the Women's Championship over Lita.
