AEW star Eddie Kingston issues a major medical update
Although he has not been seen in an AEW ring since the Dynasty pay-per-view, Eddie Kingston has taken a big step toward recovery. The 42-year-old has taken to social media to confirm that he has undergone surgery.
Eddie Kingston injured his leg at NJPW Resurgence 2024 when he suffered a freak accident during his match against Gabe Kidd. Kingston's leg hit the guardrail as he took a suplex, and it was later revealed he'd unfortunately sustained a tubular fracture and also hurt his knee.
Instead of immediately going under the knife, Kingston decided to wait for a while and let his leg heal properly before he consulted doctors for surgery. As things stand, Eddie Kingston has finally completed the surgical procedure on his leg.
The former AEW Continental Champion simply announced on Instagram that "it's done" and posted a photo from the hospital bed, presumably right after the knee surgery.
Here's what the AEW star posted:
"Well it's done. So what up!" Kingston wrote.
Kingston's AEW career began with a hard-earned opportunity, and he made the most of it, becoming one of the company's most loved babyfaces in the most organic way imaginable.
The Mad King has always been seen as an important figure, both in the ring and backstage for AEW, and everyone within the promotion would certainly be happy to see his rehabilitation progress.
Sportskeeda Wrestling sends its best wishes to The Mad King!
