AEW star is held back from joining WWE due to one fault, says Vince Russo (Exclusive)
A particular AEW star is rumored to be on his way to WWE. However, Vince Russo believes there is not much in the said star to make him a big name on Triple H's roster.
The star, Ricky Starks, has been absent from the active AEW scene for quite a few months at this point. While he has appeared to be on the verge of a big push at times, nothing serious has been planned for him. His skills on the mic are enough to stay on pace with the likes of MJF, along with his in-ring talent. Lately there have been some reports of him potentially moving to WWE.
The topic was discussed in the latest episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws. According to Vince Russo, Ricky Starks lacked a unique enough character and personality to be considered a top star.
"It's exactly what EC3 is saying, bro. Wrestlers are a dime a dozen, bro. Great wrestlers are a dime a dozen. For somebody like me, you just gotta give me more than that, bro. And the time that I did see him on AEW, I... What are you gonna tell me your character is, bro, you're a cocky wrestler? Everybody is a cocky wrestler, bro. You gotta give me more than that, man." The AEW star is set to end up in WWE, according to another veteran
While there is no official confirmation of what Ricky Starks plans to do next, many believe that a WWE entry is in the cards.
Speaking on Gigantic Pop, veteran Matt Morgan talked about the chances of Ricky joining Triple H's side. According to him, it is more than likely at this point that the charismatic AEW star will jump ship.
"I do think Ricky [Starks] will end up in WWE, I honestly do," said Morgan. [21:13 - 21:16]
As of now, it remains to be seen what Ricky Starks plans to do next.
