AEW star Konosuke Takeshita scarily dropped on his head during a suplex
AEW star Konosuke Takeshita suffered an upsetting loss recently. Not only that, he also took a brutal drop during his match which had a nasty impact on his head.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling is currently holding the G1 Climax 34 tournament. The tournament commenced on July 20 and will conclude on August 18, 2024. The fourteenth night of the contest was held on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The venue for the event was Xebio Arena Sendai in Sendai, Miyagi.
One of the matches featured Konosuke Takeshita taking on Boltin Oleg in a singles match in the B block night opener match. It was overall the fourth match of the night.
During one point in their awesome battle, the fans saw the Kazakh wrestler deliver a high-angle German Suplex to the Japanese wrestler. This caused the latter to awkwardly land on his head/neck.
Tonight was not the night for the 29-year-old AEW star as he not only ate up the vicious blow but also had to take a big loss as his opponent defeated him in their match.

Amidst the ongoing G1 Climax 34 tournament, Konosuke Takeshita sat down for an interview with Tokyo Sports and discussed his relationship with former WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
"Isn't [Shinsuke Nakamura] the top of the top as a Japanese player? In terms of achievements and influence. I am probably the closest to him as a Japanese wrestler, and I have met and talked with him many times, and he has said to me, 'The future is Take-chan. It's a heavy cross to bear, but more than anything, it's my confidence," he said during the interview.
During the same interview, he also disclosed that he desires to win the tournament as it is what his mentors would want to see him do.
