AEW star labeled "MGK and Ellen DeGeneres' dumpster baby" by MJF
AEW is continuing on the road to All In 2024, and tensions are heating up between the wrestlers. MJF is preparing for one of his biggest matches ever, but first, he has a few obstacles to overcome. The Dynamite Diamond Ring holder has just fired harsh shots in anticipation of another win.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is set to face Kyle Fletcher on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite to move one step closer to All In, where he will defend the American Championship against Fletcher's longtime friend and stablemate, Will Ospreay. The match was changed to a Title Eliminator after Fletcher defeated Brian Cage on AEW Collision last night, then challenged Friedman to a future title match.
The Wolf of Wrestling took to X today to share a clip of the Collision segment from Saturday. He captioned the post with a personal shot at The Aussie Arrow.
"You can thank me later [kangaroo emoji] Also cut your hair. You look like MGK and Ellen Degeneres's dumpster baby," MJF wrote with the photo below.
MJF's jab at Fletcher went especially over with wrestling fans today as MGK just appeared at WWE SummerSlam. The rock-rap star has performed for WWE in the past, but he accompanied fellow Clevelander Logan Paul to the ring for his United States Championship loss to LA Knight on Saturday and interfered.
TV host Ellen has interviewed numerous superstars over the years and gave a shout-out to The Rock on RAW in 2011 for his birthday bash.
AEW American Champion MJF appears at CMLL
Maxwell Jacob Friedman controversially appeared at CMLL's Super Viernes event in Mexico City on Friday. This was his in-ring debut for the legendary lucha promotion.
All Elite Wrestling's American Champion worked the main event of the show, defeating Templario. The match went just over 16 minutes. MJF will now face Kyle Fletcher in a Title Eliminator match on Wednesday's Dynamite as a warm-up before his title defense against Will Ospreay at All In on August 25.
AEW's PAC and Rocky Romero also worked Friday's CMLL show. They were defeated by Mascara Dorada and Volador Jr. in a 2 out of 3 Falls match.
