AEW star Mercedes Moné pays heartfelt tribute to Eddie Guerrero on his death anniversary

AEW and WWE stars, along with the rest of the wrestling world, are remembering Eddie Guerrero today. Mercedes Moné has been open about her love for the WWE Hall of Famer and how his WrestleMania 21 match with Rey Mysterio made her want to be the female version of the second-generation wrestler. Moné just paid tribute to Guerrero on the anniversary of his tragic passing.

The CEO is one of the top women's wrestlers right now, in her first reign as AEW TBS Champion and NJPW Strong Women's Champion. The former Sasha Banks of WWE has made several tributes over the years to Guerrero, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Moné's attire at WrestleMania 32 was inspired by Eddie, while her look for her Tokyo debut was inspired by Guerrero's Black Tiger gimmick from NJPW.

Latino Heat tragically passed away on November 13, 2005, at the age of 38. Moné is among the many wrestlers and fans who took to social media to pay tribute to the 10-time WWE champion. She took to X/Twitter to share one of Eddie's catchphrases with three hearts. Mercedes included a photo of Eddie's first SmackDown entrance as WWE Champion in 2004.

"Viva La Raza [red heart emoji x 3]," Mercedes Moné wrote with the photo below.

Guerrero was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2006. AAA inducted Eddie into its Hall of Fame in 2008, while the Hardcore Hall of Fame paid tribute in 2015.
