AEW star MJF sends a message to JBL; the WWE legend immediately responds

MJF is all set to defend his American Championship next weekend at the All In pay-per-view in London. Ahead of his match Firedman took to his X/Twitter to send a message to JBL. The WWE legend immediately responded to the AEW star.

After MJF returned from hiatus at Double or Nothing, he attacked Adam Cole and then seemed to be a mentor to Daniel Garcia. However, Friedman soon reverted to his old ways by attacking Garcia. Since then, he has been feuding with Will Ospreay and even defeated him for the International Championship.

Following this win, Friedman has adopted the gimmick of an American hero and has even rebranded the AEW International Championship as the American Championship. The Wolf of Wrestling took to social media and called WWE Hall of Famer JBL his forefather, stating that to be a true American Hero he has to thank the forefathers. He also dedicated his day to the veteran.

"To be a true American Hero you have to thank your forefathers. I’m dedicating today to my good friend @JCLayfield the Wrestling God. Thanks for all your sage advice and your stamp of approval!" Friedman tweeted.

JBL, who was one of the top heels in WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era, caught wind of this tweet and immediately responded to the AEW American Champion showing his support for the "True American Hero."

"Proud to wholeheartedly support this True American Hero. The world is lucky to have MJF."

MJF on if he would ever wrestle CM Punk again in AEW

While CM Punk's run in AEW is marred in a lot of controversy, it will forever be remembered for his feud with MJF. The two men went at each other on the microphone in some of the best promo battles in history. The two men even faced each other in singles competition twice and are tied at one apiece.

During a recent interview with WrestleTalk, Friedman opened up on if he would ever face Punk again in AEW. The Salt of the Earth even claimed he would beat the Straight Edge Star if they faced each other again.

"I would have won if we wrestled again. I think everybody knows that. I’m a very smart individual, I’ve actually mentioned this in regards to Swerve as history repeats itself, I’m a man that… I like to pick my spots. It’s very obvious that I could have beaten him again as I had already beaten him twice in Chicago. But why would I beat him when there was no World Title on the line?"

MJF is set to defend his American Championship against Will Ospreay at AEW All In 2024 in London, England.
