AEW star reflects on dark times with alcoholism struggles after WWE release

An AEW star has reflected on the time he got released from WWE and how that led him down a dark road of alcoholism. This will put a lot of things into perspective.

The star in question is none other than Big Bill (fka Big Cass). The big man was a very imposing star in WWE and had relative success. However, his act with Enzo Amore went stale, and then he turned heel and went flat again.

He was released on June 19, 2018, which set off a chain of negative events in his life. On a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, the AEW star shed light on how he got into alcoholism.

"So I got fired, had money in the bank, and a roof over my head. Nothing fiscally to really worry about, and nothing but free time. I was a full-blown alcoholic at that time. I was drinking sun up to sun down every day. And then I went to that show in Philadelphia, House of Hardcore and I cut off my drinking earlier in the day, because I don't want to wrestle while having a ton of alcohol in my system and that was a huge mistake, because within a few hours, I had a seizure from alcohol withdrawal. I had that seizure and then I was like, I need to get myself together." [H/T Wrestling Inc]

AEW star Big Bill reveals Triple H's reaction to his potential WWE return

AEW star Big Bill, as mentioned earlier, had quite the run in WWE. During his time there, he also formed some good relationships, one of which was with Triple H.

In the same episode, the AEW star spoke about how he reached out to Triple H before making his move to Impact Wrestling. He then went on to reveal how Triple H was cool with it.

“Before I went to Impact, I texted Hunter and wanted to let them know, super appreciative. ‘I’m super appreciative. I’m not ready to come back to WWE. I want to go do this. Down the road, we’ll see.’ He was super cool about it. That’s exactly what he said, ‘Do what you have to do, down the road.’ That’s the only time I reached out to them at that point," he said.

It is great to see that he has not fully destroyed his bridges in WWE and that there could be a chance for him to go back.
