AEW star reveals she was intimidated about facing Nia Jax in WWE: "This could be really bad"
A current AEW star opened up on her first match with the current WWE Women's Champion, Nia Jax. The star revealed how she was intimidated.
The AEW star in conversation is Deonna Purrazzo. Deonna made her All Elite debut earlier this year. She was also signed with WWE from 2018 to 2020 and had an underwhelming run in NXT.
Meanwhile, Purrazzo disclosed how she was intimidated by the current WWE Women's Champion, Nia Jax. During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Deonna Purrazzo recalled her first match with Nia during her time in the Stamford-based promotion:
"I love Nia, and she has always been so giving to her opponents. So I remember it was I think her second match in NXT after she debuted, it was me, and I was intimidated, because I'm like, oh gosh. She's new, I'm new, this could be really bad. Sarah Amato helped produce Triple H was in the ring helping produce. She was just such a sponge to all the things. She gave me a couple of things, way more than I needed at that time," Deonna revealed. [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]
Deonna Purrazzo on her match with Nia Jax on RAW
The AEW star, Deonna Purrazzo also recalled her match with Nia Jax on an episode of RAW back in 2020. Deonna disclosed the following regarding the same match:
"And then we got to do it again when she re-debuted the Raw after Mania in 2020 and it was so comfortable because we had known each other then we had done this. Even then, she gave me too much. They made us redo the match. I think she's such a great person, and to be in those moments with her was really exciting for me. I like to see that development, and I was really grateful to be a part of it." [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]
Meanwhile, Deonna Purrazzo has yet to be involved in the title picture in AEW since failing to win the Women's World title at Revolution earlier his year. Only time will tell what's next for Purrazzo.
