AEW star’s performance criticized after major botch
An AEW star’s performance was recently criticized after she had a major botch on last week’s episode of Dynamite. This could have ramifications for her moving forward.
Mercedes Mone takes a lot of pride in who she surrounds herself with, and her on-screen bodyguard, Kamille, is one of them. However, on last week’s Dynamite, she lost the match against Kris Statlander. After the match, the AEW TBS Champion publicly reprimanded her.
In the latest edition of Mone Mag, Mercedes spoke about The Brickhouse and said she was embarrassed by her performance. The champ said Kamille is in the doghouse after her loss.
"Kamille couldn't get the job done. I'm super embarrassed by her performance last week. I recruited The Brickhouse to the Moné Corp because I thought that she was one of the most dominant women in all professional wrestling. But in her match last week, Kris Statlander proved that wrong. So, Kamille is in the doghouse. We will have to have a big talk before I can have her perform on TV again. Last week was just such an embarrassment. I will not tolerate such poor performance. So, we will have to wait and see if she steps it up. Other than that, Kamille is awesome, just sayin," she said. [H/T WrestlingInc.]
AEW star Mercedes Mone reveals wish to face Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill and Mercedes Mone’s paths never crossed as they left their respective companies around the same time they joined their new ones.
Cargill has made a name for herself in WWE, while Mone is the AEW TBS Champion and has carved a niche for herself as a top heel. However, Mone revealed on the Battleground podcast that she would have loved to face Cargill.
“I mean, you never know in wrestling. I never cross paths with her. But every single autograph signing I’ve been to before I even came to AEW, so many fans were like, 'I hope you get to wrestle Jade, I want you to wrestle Jade.' I’m like, ‘Alright’. Then I came to AEW and she went to the other place but you never know. There’s a lot of dream matches out there in existence so, you never know in wrestling,” she said.
It will be interesting to see if both stars cross paths in the near future. There could be a match that way.
