AEW star’s real-life friend left unconscious on Dynamite
AEW Dynamite this week once more witnessed a grim ending involving The Blackpool Combat Club. The stable carried out an ambush, laying out a top star's long-time friend and ally. This was Orange Cassidy's friend Chuck Taylor.
At the beginning of the October 23, 2024, episode of Dynamite, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley warned that his group would forever destroy "a little piece" of a member of the All Elite roster on the Wednesday night show. Despite multiple stars from the locker room lying in wait outside the arena to take on The BCC, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta seemingly snuck into the arena and beat down Private Party and Daniel Garcia after their main event match against The Elite, with Marina Shafir serving as a distraction.
Jon Moxley was then seen dragging Chuck Taylor into the ring. The Kentucky Gentleman, who retired from competition some time ago, had tried to motivate Orange Cassidy to lead the charge against The BCC earlier in the episode, reminding him of his victory over The Purveyor of Violence at Full Gear last year.
This seemed to have put Taylor in Moxley's crosshairs, unfortunately, as The One True King directed his faction members to brutalize the 38-year-old. Yuta wrapped a chair around his former mentor's foot for Castagnoli to shatter, but The Swiss Cyborg shifted the chair to around his neck and delivered a stomp on it, similar to what he did to Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream 2024.
This prompted Orange Cassidy to rush to the ring to make the save, forcing The BCC to retreat. The former AEW International Champion looked devastated as other All Elite stars arrived to check on Taylor to close out the show.
